Motorola updated its budget-friendly Razr and the premium Razr Ultra. The Razr 2025 for North America, also called the Razr 60 elsewhere, is a small update. Sometimes, a simple refresh works well.

Let’s explain the 2025 Razr lineup. The Razr 2025 is almost the same as the Razr 60 sold globally, so this review covers both. We’re testing the U.S. version, so we’ll call it the Razr 2025. We’ll note any differences.

In North America, the 2025 Razr family has three models: the Razr Ultra 2025 (reviewed as Razr 60 Ultra in Europe), the Razr+ 2025, and the standard Razr 2025 we have here. The Ultra and standard models have global versions, but the Razr+ is only for North America.

Motorola uses lowercase names, calling the family “motorola razr.” The Razr 2025 is sometimes written as “motorola razr - 2025” to avoid confusion with the Razr+ 2025. For clarity, we’ll capitalize names and skip the dash.

Now, let’s look at the Razr 2025. It has a new chipset, but performance is similar to last year’s model. The battery is now 4,500mAh, using silicon-carbon cells, keeping the phone’s size the same. It adds dust protection with water resistance. New Pantone colors complete the updates.

The inner foldable screen is still great. The cover screen is large and useful, though smaller than the Ultra’s. The Razr 2025 has a wide main camera and an ultrawide, like the Ultra but with basic hardware. The Razr+ 2025 has a wide main camera (same as the Razr 2025’s) and a telephoto, but no ultrawide.

Motorola Razr 2025 unboxing

The Razr 2025 comes in a slim, gray cardboard box. There’s no charger, but you get a USB-C cable for 3A charging, which fits the phone’s needs.

In North America, the Razr 2025 doesn’t include a case. Globally, the Razr 60 often comes with a two-piece cover, like the Razr 60 Ultra in some markets. The Razr Ultra 2025 skips the case, too. This is one small difference between the Razr 2025 and Razr 60.
